Our children deserve the best education. In recent years, Arizona’s educational standards have sunk lower than those of most states. We will begin to see improvement when we raise our educational standards. Raising our standards means we must prepare students for life. Graduation is not enough. We must equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary for the workforce and college.
I believe our students are capable of achieving much more. Let’s lift our expectations so they can rise to meet the challenge. As a state, we need to:

Arizona must unite to develop a K-12 program that prepares students for college and the workplace. As your representative, I will do my part to give our children the best education they deserve. Arizona’s future depends on it!
ECONOMIC PROSPERITY
The economy is on all our minds. Gas prices are rising, mortgages are threatened, and many have lost their jobs. We must take action and engage these economic challenges head on.
Arizona needs more, better-paying jobs. Our duty is to prepare a well skilled and educated workforce to fill these careers. By revitalizing education in this state, we will attract companies that offer better-paying jobs with more financial security.
Arizona needs to support small businesses through tax relief. Small businesses drive our economy. More importantly, small business owners are hardworking men and women who sacrifice much to bring valuable goods to the marketplace. They deserve to do business in a supportive environment. It’s time to give small business-owners some much deserved tax relief. After all, when small businesses are strong, we are strong!
Now is not the time to fear, but to grow. Increasing economic prosperity in our community means better quality of life for everyone. Let’s work to expand opportunities and defy our current circumstances!
PUBLIC SAFETY
Many of our neighborhoods face the same challenges: gang violence, drug activity and property vandalization. We can minimize these effects by organizing neighborhood watches and working together to reduce crime in our neighborhoods.
The safest communities are those that are well organized, actively involved and aware of what is going on in their neighborhoods. Making our streets safe is everyone’s job, including the police. As your representative, I will work with community groups and city authorities to ensure the safety and peace of mind of your families.
IMMIGRATION
Arizona thrives on the important contributions of our immigrant community. A great majority of immigrants are hardworking men and women who pay taxes and help our economy grow. They provide important services, and enrich our culture. Many immigrants go to church with us, live next door, or have children that play on our kid’s sports teams. They are part of us. Let’s treat them with dignity and respect.
I propose Arizona use its resources to make our communities safe for all. We cannot afford to strain the efforts of local law enforcement by burdening them with the work of the federal border patrol. As your representative, I will support policies that enhance economic prosperity and improve public safety for all!
FAMILY VALUES
My wife Laura and I are expecting our first child in early November. It is one of the best things that has ever happened to us. I remember the first time we saw our baby. At eight weeks she was moving! Already we could see her heart beating strong, it was an amazing sight. I truly believe I saw a miracle happen right before my eyes. I am convinced that life begins at conception and that it is worth protecting.
